  • SPEC Timeline

    The SPEC normalization strengthens ANT’s case. His pace remains exceptional after the car-performance adjustment, and the timeline shows how much of the race he spent operating above the expected level.

    VER is penalized by the P85 normalization point. Because his own pace helps define the benchmark, part of his advantage is absorbed before SPEC ranks the drivers. That probably understates his race slightly.

    Even with that caveat, the main signal is clear: ANT was outstanding.

    Behind the podium group, SPEC returns the usual suspects — HAM, PIA and NOR — but none approach the level shown by ANT.

    SPEC may be a little unfair to VER. It is emphatic about ANT.

    ANT is the strongest driver-adjusted performance across the meaningful part of the distribution. RUS and VER remain close, but neither matches ANT’s sustained advantage through the middle percentiles.

    At the sharp end the field compresses, which makes the P85 normalization caveat important: VER’s peak pace is partly absorbed into the benchmark. Even so, ANT remains the clearest SPEC signal of the race.

    Behind them, HAM, PIA and NOR form the familiar second group.

    SPEC may compress VER. It does not erase ANT.

    If the SPEC instrument tells the truth, RUS managed the race perfectly. He converted pole into victory without needing speed heroics.

    ANT had the strongest adjusted pace, but wasted precious time in the opening phase. His exceptional speed was not enough to recover what he had already lost.

    VER sits between them. He was faster than RUS, cleaner than ANT, and fully deserved P2 — even if SPEC ranks him third.

    RUS executed the best race. ANT showed the best pace. VER delivered the best recovery.
