    Y-Axis: Time delta to reference

  • Race Timeline

The race separates into two clear clusters: RUS, VER and ANT on the podium, followed by PIA, HAM and HAD.

RUS controlled the race from pole and used track position exactly as required. But the deeper signal is the slope: ANT shows the strongest race-trim pace, followed by VER, then RUS.

VER and ANT recovered, but recovery costs time. ANT’s early mistakes left too much ground to regain, while RUS had already converted pole into control.

RUS owned the race. ANT owned the slope. VER split the difference.

  • Race Distributions

The distributions sharpen the timeline signal. ANT and VER show the strongest pace in the upper quantiles, while RUS does not reach the same outright speed.

But RUS led from pole, controlled the gaps and never needed to reveal everything. His race was managed from the front rather than driven as a recovery.

PIA, HAM and HAD sit in a separate performance cluster. They had enough pace to contest the lower positions, but not enough to win.

ANT and VER had the speed. RUS had control.

  • Race Sorted Time

The sorted-time chart confirms the same raw-pace order: ANT and VER were faster than RUS over the race.

But the left side explains why pace did not become victory. RUS started from pole and immediately converted track position into time advantage. ANT lost too much in the opening phase, while VER gave away time fighting through traffic.

By the time the faster slopes emerged, RUS had already banked the margin.

ANT and VER had more pace. RUS spent less time earning position.
