Pace Timeline
Removing fuel and tyre effects makes the same hierarchy cleaner. ANT and VER still show the strongest underlying pace, while RUS remains slightly behind but benefits from having controlled the race from pole.
PIA and HAM never enter the winning pace range.
HAD is the anomaly. His pace falls away sharply after the middle of the race and never recovers, breaking completely from the second cluster.
The normalization removes the noise. It does not change the story.

Pace Distributions
This is where the underlying race pace becomes clear. Once the entropy of the first quartile is set aside, the ranking is ANT, VER, then RUS.
ANT is the most complete signal: faster across almost the entire distribution and remarkably consistent from percentile to percentile. VER, PIA and HAD occasionally reach a sharper peak, but none sustain ANT’s pace across the full range.
RUS remains competitive, but the normalized distribution confirms that his advantage came from pole, track position and control rather than the fastest underlying pace.
HAD’s loss of performance is also unmistakable. The fast laps were there, but the distribution collapses away from the sharp end.
ANT had the pace everywhere. The others only touched it.

Pace Sorted Time
At the sharp end, the leading group begins with broadly similar pace. The separation comes from how efficiently each driver clears the opening entropy and traffic.
RUS is the clear beneficiary of pole. He starts in clean air, avoids the early fights and converts comparable pace into immediate time advantage.
HAM is the biggest loser. He gives away too much time in the opening phase and then lacks the underlying pace to recover it.
ANT has the pace to win, but not the clean execution. His admission that he became “too excited” is visible in the chart: precious time lost before the race had properly settled.
The opening laps did not decide who was fastest. They decided who would have the chance to use that speed.

Pace Dartboard
The dominant feature is the clear separation of the podium trio from the rest of the field.
RUS, VER and ANT occupy the winning performance space. PIA, HAM and HAD form a second group that never truly reaches them.
Within the podium cluster, the same reading survives: ANT shows the strongest underlying pace, VER combines speed with recovery, and RUS converts pole and track position into control.
The dartboard does not change the story. It makes the hierarchy impossible to miss.
